Now that Nova is fully obsessed with reading we have collected quite a lot of books and are adding more always. It’s definitely the one thing I never feel guilty spending money on because each one gets so much love in our home and can be passed along when the time comes. Here are a few of our autumn + halloween favorites! (starting from the top left)
Where The Wild Things Are This one is still a little long for Nova, and not really halloween technically, but she’s always been pretty intrigued by it, which makes me excited for when she gets a little bit older.
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial Love this book- the illustrations are incredible!
You’re My Little Pumpkin Pie This board book is perfect for toddlers, quick to read and so beautifully illustrated.
Llama Llama Give Thanks Nova is having a BIG Llama Llama phase and we read these books every single day (like, all of them- haha). So I was happy we could add a few autumn llama books to our collection!
(not pictured) Llama Llama Trick Or Treat A good one for prepping a toddler for their first trick or treat experience.
Bonaparte Falls Apart Beautiful and Classic. If you haven’t noticed illustrations are very important to me and something I put a lot of value in. This one is definitely at a level she can grow into over the next few years.
Vampirina Ballerina We love this book, we started reading it when she was in ballet classes a few months ago. It’s adorable! I think there is a Disney Jr. show too, be we haven’t gotten that far yet.
No Such Thing One of our most-read books, Nova has it memorized. I can’t recommend it enough!
How To Make Friends With A Ghost We bought this at our local craft fair. It’s gorgeous and so special. It’s a little above Nova’s attention span in length this year, but she still likes reading it.
Gilbert The Ghost A must have if you are collecting halloween books. It’s gorgeous.
Triangle Not a halloween book, but it vibes with the theme and we still read this one a lot.
Spookie Pookie For sure Nova’s current halloween favorite. She loves seeing the piggie dress up in costumes and it makes her laugh. Adorable!
Scariest Book Ever I love this book- it’s so cute and sweet.
Ghosts We just added this one, so I don’t have any notes on it yet other than it’s (obviously) beautiful.
The Bad Seed Not a halloween book, but I highly recommend! Some books are just way more fun to read (for the grown up) than others and this one is very very fun.
I hope this list helps you to add a few new books to your libraries. One little *tip* I would give is that we buy a LOT of our kids books “used” on Amazon for very very cheap. They sometimes come with a little visible wear or an old library label on them, but I love that! Plus, kids books get beat up anyway… it’s sweet. Embrace it!
Happy (almost) October 1st!
