A few weeks ago I posted about my fold up spin bike on IG and I got some questions so I figured it would be good to put my full review, and links here for future reference.
My personal review.
-I am not in the market for building a home gym. My favorite work outs are running, walking and swimming outdoors and indoor group classes (pre-Covid). But since I am not comfortable going to a gym or group classes this year and it’s mostly too cold to run and walk outdoors I wanted a solution for exercising indoors at home. In the past I have enjoyed spin classes and I feel like it’s the easiest class to replicate with just a simple playlist of songs alternating fast and slow. Since we don’t plan to make a home gym and I will go back to a real gym as soon as it feels safe to do so I didn’t want to spend too much money. But since we currently don’t have a gym membership at all (and haven’t since last Spring) the price of this bike seemed reasonable to me. Now that we’re into the colder months I am using it quite a bit and loving it.
-Features: The bike is lightweight (less than 40 lbs) and easy to move around or hide in a closet. it has an LCD display that shows distance, calories burned, time, speed and pulse. It has eight tension levels that are easy to adjust and a spot for your phone to sit.
-A lot of people asked about how tall I am and how the seat fits. I am 5’4 and I use the bike on the lowest/shortest setting comfortably. I don’t think it would be a good fit for someone more than a few inches shorter than me, taller would obviously be ok.
-The other main question I have is whether the bike is sturdy enough to ride sitting and standing. It definitely is. It’s very similar to bikes I used in spin classes, just smaller and lighter (and less expensive).
For more details I suggest reading the reviews on the product page (there are over 1000 questions answered there if there is something I didn’t cover.
