After eighteen months in the adoption process, two weeks in China and thirty four hours traveling home from China with a two year old, we are SO HAPPY to be home. Together!
Our friend Katelyn (who is a China mama herself) generously offered to snap a few photos on our first weekend at home. I’m so happy to have these treasured memories.
While in China we stayed in hotel rooms and ate a restaurants so by the end of our two weeks there we couldn’t wait to get home to start creating routines. We loved China (I will devote a whole post to that and complete our adoption story soon) but it’s so magical to be home in time for the holidays.
Nova is obsessed with playing piano with Jeremy, as you can see here. It’s the sweetest thing.
In so many ways we are still getting to know each other, building trust and learning how to be parents for the very first time. Jeremy and I both have some time off work and we’re spending all of it with Nova (she’s asleep right now). We feel as if we’re still in the middle of a huge learning curve, as I’m sure any first time parents feel.
We feel so unbelievably lucky. Last year at this time we were hoping against all hope that we’d be parents by “next Christmas” and it didn’t look like it was going to happen, but then it did. It’s a miracle to us and we’re just soaking it all in.
I just wanted to pop in and share these photos because I feel like they tell a part of our story.
I’ll be back soon to share more!
