Today was a real dream come true. We’re shopping for a family sized home, y’all!
Today we viewed four homes. We liked three of them, but only kept two on our list of maybes. It’s honestly pretty weird to shop for a home with kiddos in mind. We aren’t expecting, but we know it’s something we want in the next few years and we are ready to move now. So we’re shopping with a bigger family in mind even though we don’t know exactly how our needs will change (well, we do have our moms to ask). I love the idea of moving in and spending a whole year renovating before we get serious about baby talk. I think I want to really enjoy the process of decorating this home before we switch gears to enjoy the process of bringing a child into our family.
Walking into a home and knowing it could possibly be your home is such a weird feeling! Especially when another family is still living there. I feel like it takes a bit to absorb each room and think about how it could possibly function for our own family. Things that are important to us…. lighting, floor plan, neighborhood, good back yard and for some reason I am a huge sucker for porches and balconies. I start imaging all these little moments we could have there and I’m gone…
Above are a few little snapshots I got with my phone. Even though we didn’t “fall in love” with a house today I feel great about the options that are available and am so happy we have an open time frame to shop this summer. Once we commit I know I’ll go into a crazy mode of decorating every room in my mind. For now, it’s nice to just enjoy this season… Just soaking it in!
