Half grandma, already…
My whole life, upon meeting people, I’ve heard things like… “My grandmother was named Elsie” or “My great aunt was named Elsie”. I idolized my grandmother’s style from the time I was in elementary school. She has a great style and story (I’ll share more about her in another post). In high school I discovered thrift shops. With the $100 my parents would give me for new clothes I could buy bags and bags of clothing, instead of a few things from the mall. I liked that and pretty soon I was dressing like a grandma at the ripe ole’ age of sixteen. As soon as I got my license Emma and I would go thrifting at DAV a couple night a week. Back then DAV was the best thrift and it was open till 9 pm on a school night. 🙂
Anyway… long story, short… I’ve always been an aspiring grandma. I like to think that I’m one of those “cool grandmas”, but I definitely feel more at home at a quilting shop than I do at any kind of concert or club. Always an old person on the inside… now where’s my oatmeal?
Just Because…
We took these photos with our phones last Autumn while having breakfast at Aunt Martha’s Pancake House. I guess the tradition kinda stuck. Here’s another one from our anniversary trip to Hawaii…
I think we should keep taking them forever + ever. Just because. I like having cheesy “just because” things in life…
