This cocktail is named after my friend, Carter, who is a toy designer. I knew I wanted to do some kind of toy garnish (obvious, no?) and had the idea to freeze little army men in the bottom of each glass…
I used about 1/4 inch water in the bottom of each glass to freeze the army men in standing position in the bottom of each glass.
I had grand visions for Carter’s cocktail. We tested a bunch of recipes with jalapeno and cucumber vodka. In the end, nothing was working and I was out of time so I went with a super simple gin and gingerale mix. Sometimes you gotta improvise!
We had such a fun night! We made homemade pizzas and lots of mixed drinks. The we did lots of chatting about toys, family, work, puppy love, life… you know- all the important stuff.
In case you are wondering, the army men stayed in place for like 30 minutes- totally enough time to sip a cocktail if you ask us! 😉 This little tradition has been SO MUCH FUN. Jeremy and I have really enjoyed thinking up different silly cocktails for each guest we have. More soon!
